Cataphoresis: corrosion protection and uniform coatings
Cataphoresis coating is an electrodeposition painting process used to protect metal surfaces from corrosion and achieve an even coating, even on complex shapes.
The process involves immersing the parts in a tank containing a specific coating solution. A continuous electric field deposits the coating onto the metal surface, forming a uniform layer with strong adhesion to the substrate, in accordance with the treatment requirements.
One of the main advantages of cataphoresis coating is its ability to reach areas that are difficult to treat with other systems, such as knurled surfaces, cavities and threaded areas. This provides even coverage, even on components with complex geometries.
After deposition, the parts undergo a curing cycle in dedicated ovens to promote cross-linking of the paint and achieve the coating’s final properties.
Thanks to its combination of corrosion protection, uniform coverage and process efficiency, cataphoresis is used in a wide range of industrial applications, depending on component requirements and operating conditions.
